Применение Internet-технологий как для частичной поддержки очного учебного процесса (blended learning), так и дистанционного обучения (без очного контакта), базируется на специальном программном обеспечении, вопросам выбора которого посвящена данная статья. Так, наряду с применением готовых фирменных программных продуктов или разработкой вузом собственной единой системы, возможен подход, при котором каждый преподаватель может разработать свою персональную систему управления учебным процессом (теоретически это возможно).
