While the success of Open Source software like Linux or Apache has been documented extensively throughout all mainstream media, the rise of PHP has gone largely unnoticed. Still, the Web scripting language PHP is the most popular module for the Apache Web server, according to an E-Soft survey (www.e-softinc.com/survey/). Применение Internet-технологий как для частичной поддержки очного учебного процесса (blended learning), так и дистанционного обучения (без очного контакта), базируется на специальном программном обеспечении, вопросам выбора которого посвящена данная статья. Так, наряду с применением готовых фирменных программных продуктов или разработкой вузом собственной единой системы, возможен подход, при котором каждый преподаватель может разработать свою персональную систему управления учебным процессом (теоретически это возможно). Автор статьи является сторонником такого положения, когда при наличии в вузе налаженной технологии образовательного процесса на основе стандартной (покупной) оболочки проводятся научно-методические разработки на базе создания web-сайтов в рамках творческой инициативы преподавателей.
