A History of Chinese Literature is THE classic introduction to Chinese literature, which has given to the world exquisite poetry and such classics as Monkey, The Analects of Confucius, the works of Chuang Tzu, and other writings over a time span of 2,500 or more years.Author, Professor Giles, a legendary scholar of Chinese, was best known for the Wade-Giles romanization system. In this book he considered all forms of Chinese literature including: prose, poetry, the novel, the short story, drama, and scientific writing. The material is organized chronologically into eight books which are in turn divided into subject chapters. The arrival of Buddhism to China, the invention of printing, and other significant events are admirably outlined. Whoever reads this excellent introduction will be hungry for more of the literary products of China.A History of Chinese Literature provides us with a capsule guide to 2,500 years of Chinese culture. Remote as ancient literature may seem to Chinese manners today, the traditional literature does in fact provide a key to modern China and to Chinese communism. This populous nation, which represents the world's oldest living civilization, is in reality still close to its own past philosophies and ideals.

Trojan Horse of Western History
Автор: Oleg Matveychev
Год издания:
What is this book about? This book is about an exciting journey to Troy, both ancient and modern. About the fact that the Trojans defeated the Greeks (not the other way around, as is commonly believed). And that the well-known Greek religion with its anthropomorphism was created artificially for political reasons. The authors assert that the information warfare, the falsification of history – is not an innovation, but the oldest essence of Western way of thinking. The book refutes the conventional wisdom that “history is written by the winners.” On the contrary, authors have shown: those who write history become winners. The book is written in bright, vivid and interesting manner for laymen. At the same time it is absolutely scientific and opposed fancy sensational historical fast food. This book is about the struggle for historical truth and justice, which roots us in the world, because without the truth we are orphans.
Celtic Literatures in the Twentieth Century

«The Centre for Irish and Celtic Studies at the University of Ulster hosted at Coleraine, between the 24th and 26th August 2000, a very successful and informative conference on ‘Celtic Literatures in the Twentieth Century’. The lectures and the discussions were of a high standard, and it was the intention of the organisers to edit and publish the proceedings as soon as possible thereafter. Unfortunately, due to dif culties in assembling some of the papers, this was not possible and, consequently, publication has been delayed much longer than was originally anticipated. Despite this delay, we feel that those papers which we have received merit publication at this time, not only because of their intrinsicmerits, but also because they represent the views of the authors on their respective topics at the turn of the twenty rst century and will hopefully be of value to those interested in the state of the modern Celtic literatures.»
