El repensamiento, tal como lo entendemos en la Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, consiste en contemplar nuestras asignaturas con una mirada distinta, que brota de la razon ampliada, busca la unidad del saber, tiene su base en las preguntas fundamentales (antropologica, epistemologica, etica y de sentido) y requiere de la puesta en juego del profesor. Se trata de abrir cada disciplina a la realidad de un modo plenamente humano. Para lograrlo se requiere el dominio cientifico y tecnico de la propia disciplina y partir de la razon ampliada, es decir, de una razon que no se encierra en si misma, sino que incluye al hombre completo, tambien la fe y el corazon. No es una moda pasajera ni una estrategia comercial, sino una cuestion de identidad. Somos una universidad catolica y el repensamiento tiene que ver con ser universidad y con ser catolica. Por eso buscamos la verdad desde la razon ampliada y vamos mas alla de la mera capacitacion profesional de nuestros alumnos. Por eso abordamos las cuestiones que preocupan a la humanidad, las permanentes y las coyunturales, aunque eso nos lleve a respuestas incomodas, y aspiramos a la transformacion cristiana de la sociedad. – A number of years ago the University Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) became convinced that the growing secularization of institutions of higher learning has led to a dehumanization of the person within universities, both as students or practitioners in many ?elds of knowledge as well as objects of study or practice in those ?elds. UFV decided to evaluate its mission based on the role of the human person in the community of intellectuals that is a university. What you have here is an evaluation of the problem and an intriguing solution.
