Desde los primeros textos de Letras Universitarias hasta El oso y el colibri hay una historia de publicaciones de casi veinte anos (1949-1968). Juntos, son un paseo por la faceta de ensayista, critico, cronista y comentarista de Gonzalo Arango (al lado de la del dramaturgo, poeta, narrador, periodista, epistolografo…) y conocerla es ir tras los indicios y las huellas de unos de los lugares mas ricos para reconstruir las concepciones de Gonzalo sobre literatura, politica, cultura y vida privada. Ese trayecto conforma una autobiografia intelectual de una vida vivida entre libros, calles, bares, amigos, pequenos viajes, editoriales, rabias y soledades. Y eso, a mi modo de ver, es mas que digno, y es buen motivo para estar regresando a la obra de Gonzalo y descubrir algo nuevo en su escritura o recordar lo que a veces dice tan bien y tan a su manera.
