Physical Processes and Measurement Devices. Environmental Hydraulics Physical Processes and Measurement Devices. Environmental Hydraulics

Автор: Jean-Michel Tanguy

Год издания:

This series of five volumes proposes an integrated description of physical processes modeling used by scientific disciplines from meteorology to coastal morphodynamics. Volume 1 describes the physical processes and identifies the main measurement devices used to measure the main parameters that are indispensable to implement all these simulation tools. Volume 2 presents the different theories in an integrated approach: mathematical models as well as conceptual models, used by all disciplines to represent these processes. Volume 3 identifies the main numerical methods used in all these scientific fields to translate mathematical models into numerical tools. Volume 4 is composed of a series of case studies, dedicated to practical applications of these tools in engineering problems. To complete this presentation, volume 5 identifies and describes the modeling software in each discipline.

Zuckers??e Chemie. Kohlenhydrate and Co Zuckers??e Chemie. Kohlenhydrate and Co

Автор: Prof. Georg Schwedt

Год издания:

This is a potpourri of information, recipes and chemical experiments involving sugar. Georg Schwedt, one of the most experienced authors of practical experiment books, clearly explains the topic, yet in an unusual way – a treasure trove of stories, tips and experiments. Suitable for chemistry, biology and biochemistry courses in all types of schools as well as at universities.

Engineered Carbohydrate-Based Materials for Biomedical Applications. Polymers, Surfaces, Dendrimers, Nanoparticles, and Hydrogels Engineered Carbohydrate-Based Materials for Biomedical Applications. Polymers, Surfaces, Dendrimers, Nanoparticles, and Hydrogels

Автор: Ravin Narain

Год издания:

This book addresses the need for a comprehensive book on the design, synthesis, and characterization of synthetic carbohydrate-based polymeric materials along with their biological applications. The first two chapters cover the synthesis and self-assembly of glycopolymers and different techniques for creating these synthetic polymers. Subsequent chapters account for the preparation of block copolymers, branched glycopolymers, glycosurfaces, glycodendrimers, cationic glycopolymers, bioconjugates, glyconanoparticles and hydrogels. While these chapters comprehensively review the synthetic and characterization methods of those carbohydrate-based materials, their biological applications are discussed in detail.
