Infrared Thermal Imaging Infrared Thermal Imaging

Автор: Klaus-Peter Mollmann

Год издания: 0000

This new up-to-date edition of the successful handbook and ready reference retains the proven concept of the first, covering basic and advanced methods and applications in infrared imaging from two leading expert authors in the field. All chapters have been completely revised and expanded and a new chapter has been added to reflect recent developments in the field and report on the progress made within the last decade. In addition there is now an even stronger focus on real-life examples, with 20% more case studies taken from science and industry. For ease of comprehension the text is backed by more than 590 images which include graphic visualizations and more than 300 infrared thermography figures. The latter include many new ones depicting, for example, spectacular views of phenomena in nature, sports, and daily life.
Imaging Marine Life. Macrophotography and Microscopy Approaches for Marine Biology Imaging Marine Life. Macrophotography and Microscopy Approaches for Marine Biology

Автор: Emmanuel Reynaud G.

Год издания:

Written by an international team of experts from the Tara Oceans Marine Biology Imaging Platform (TAOMI), this is the first and only compendium on marine imaging technologies, and includes all known underwater as well as on-land techniques. TAOMI is imaging the largest collection of marine organisms in recent history, ranging from viruses to corals, and is duplicated on land to perform high throughput confocal analysis of plankton, X-ray tomography as well as cryo-electron microscopy. This unique platform combines underwater imaging with cytometry, stereomicroscopy, fluorescence microscopy and 3D microscopy – all of which are covered in this practical book, along with remote sensing, MRI, and optical projection tomography. The definitive resource for every marine biologist who is planning to image marine species, whether underwater or on land.

The main purpose of this book is to remind new engineers in silicon foundry, the fundamental physical and chemical rules in major Front end treatments: oxidation, epitaxy, ion implantation and impurities diffusion.

Illumination Engineering. Design with Nonimaging Optics Illumination Engineering. Design with Nonimaging Optics

Автор: R. Koshel John

Год издания:

This book brings together experts in the field who present material on a number of important and growing topics including lighting, displays, solar concentrators. The first chapter provides an overview of the field of nonimagin and illumination optics. Included in this chapter are terminology, units, definitions, and descriptions of the optical components used in illumination systems. The next two chapters provide material within the theoretical domain, including etendue, etendue squeezing, and the skew invariant. The remaining chapters focus on growing applications. This entire field of nonimaging optics is an evolving field, and the editor plans to update the technological progress every two to three years. The editor, John Koshel, is one of the most prominent leading experts in this field, and he is the right expert to perform the task.

Equilibrium and Transfer in Porous Media 3. Applications, Isothermal Transport and Coupled Transfers Equilibrium and Transfer in Porous Media 3. Applications, Isothermal Transport and Coupled Transfers

Автор: Jean-Francois Daian

Год издания:

A porous medium is composed of a solid matrix and its geometrical complement: the pore space. This pore space can be occupied by one or more fluids. The understanding of transport phenomena in porous media is a challenging intellectual task. This book provides a detailed analysis of the aspects required for the understanding of many experimental techniques in the field of porous media transport phenomena. It is aimed at students or engineers who may not be looking specifically to become theoreticians in porous media, but wish to integrate knowledge of porous media with their previous scientific culture, or who may have encountered them when dealing with a technological problem. While avoiding the details of the more mathematical and abstract developments of the theories of acroscopization, the author gives as accurate and rigorous an idea as possible of the methods used to establish the major laws of macroscopic behavior in porous media. He also illustrates the constitutive laws and equations by demonstrating some of their classical applications. Priority is to put forward the constitutive laws in concrete circumstances without going into technical detail. This third volume in the three-volume series focuses on the applications of isothermal transport and coupled transfers in porous media.

PACS and Imaging Informatics. Basic Principles and Applications PACS and Imaging Informatics. Basic Principles and Applications

Автор: H. Huang K.

Год издания:

The definitive guide to PACS – now with more clinically applicable material In recent years, the field of picture archiving and communications systems—PACS—and image informatics has advanced due to both conceptual and technological advancements. This edition of PACS and Imaging Informatics: Basic Principles and Applications addresses the latest in this exciting field. In contrast to the previous edition, this updated text uses the framework of image informatics, not physics or engineering principles, to explain PACS. It is the only resource that thoroughly covers the critical issues of hardware/software design and implementation in a systematic and easily comprehensible manner. To strengthen and update the book, the author: Emphasizes clinical applications of PACS and integrates clinical examples throughout the text Reflects the many changes in the field, with new chapters on Web-based PACS, security, integrating the healthcare enterprise, clinical management systems, and the electronic patient record Uses the framework of imaging informatics to explain PACS, making the book accessible to those without advanced knowledge of physics, engineering, math, or information technology Explains how PACS can improve workflow, therapy, and treatment With the most systematic and thorough coverage of practical applications available, this text is the complete guide for all those involved in designing, implementing, and using PACS. Professionals in medical and allied health imaging informatics; radiologists and their technical staff; surgeons and oncologists and their teams; medical and electronic engineers; medical informaticians; and fellows, graduate students, and advanced undergraduates will all benefit from this valuable resource. «An excellent book for people involved in the design, implementation, or simply the operations of PACS and an appropriate textbook.» —From a review of the previous edition in IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology «The strength of the book lies in the vast experience of the author, who has implemented PACS at numerous institutions in the United States and abroad.» —From a review of the previous edition in Radiology
