Сергей Магид (р. 1947 г., Ленинград) начал писать стихи в 1963 г. В 1970–80-е гг., не имея возможности официальных публикаций, печатался в ленинградских и рижских самиздатских журналах. В 1981–1988 гг. входил в ленинградское неформальное объединение поэтов, прозаиков и переводчиков «Клуб-81». В 1985–1990 гг. принимал участие в подготовке создания Ленинградского народного фронта. В 1990 г. уехал из СССР. Живет в Праге. Работает библиотекарем, пишет историософские и культурологические тексты. Первая официально изданная книга стихотворений «Зона служенья» (2003), включившая избранное с 1970 по 2000 г., вышла в издательстве «НЛО». Вторая книга стихотворений «В долине Элах» («Водолей», 2010) вошла в шорт-лист Премии им. Андрея Белого (2010) и Волошинской премии (2011). Философские заметки «За гранью этого пейзажа: Дневники 1997–2001 гг.» (2011) представили читателю С. Магида как глубокого оригинального мыслителя.
