Teddy, un inspector de policia con el corazon de oro, y Roberto, un chaval que padece de sindrome de Down, contra la criminalidad de Milan. A Teddy no se le escapa que se trata de un muchacho con el sindrome de Down* y, por lo tanto, intenta enseguida desalentarlo, pero, a su pesar, se vera obligado a aceptar su colaboracion cuando ambos coincidan en el escenario de un robo. Roberto, a pesar de sus evidentes limitaciones, tiene el don de saber leer la expresion de la gente que encuentra, sus posibles malas intenciones. Esta habilidad suya, unida a su pasion por los libros policiacos, lo lleva a convencerse de ser capaz de resolver problemas de caracter detectivesco. Juntos, Teddy y Roberto, con la colaboracion de Micaela, una simpatica sargento, habil transformista y tambien implacable cazadora de maridos violentos, consiguen desmantelar una banda de criminales. Roberto correra un gran peligro cuando los malhechores se den cuenta de que el es un testigo importante para la investigacion, conseguira, sin embargo, con una estratagema, comunicarse con Teddy, el cual ira en su ayuda, con gran diligencia y profesionalidad. Otros personajes del cuento son: Monica, la asistente social encargada de ayudar a Roberto, dulce muchacha amante de la musica y acerrima partidaria de la no violencia que, sin embargo, no dudara en convertirse en violenta cuando vea a su protegido caer en manos de los malhechores. Los sargentos Esposito y Colombo, colaboradores en la investigacion. La senora Elvira, madre de Roberto y magnifica cocinera, muy apreciada por Teddy La historia esta ambientada en la Milan de los edificios con balcones, embellecidos con macetas de flores de colores, durante una primavera de tonos sutiles milaneses, donde junto a la ligera brisa de abril flotan las notas de los conciertos celebrados en la terraza del tejado del Duomo, mientras se admira el skyline* milanes.
