Akashic was very successful with James's debut novel, John Crow's Devil, and James has gone on to win numerous awards for his literature, including the Man Booker Prize for his third novel. Curdella Forbes's novel is equally as strong as James's novels, and we are confident James's large literary audience will embrace A Tall History of Sugar as well.In addition to the comparison's to Marlon James, the novel is also influenced by Gabriel Garcia-Marquez.
