В монографии представлен обзор фауны полужесткокрылых насекомых инфраотрядов Nepomorpha и Gerromorpha Северо-Западного Кавказа. Рассматривается история изучения водных полужесткокрылых на территории Кавказа, приводится аннотированный каталог водных полужесткокрылых фауны Северо-Западного Кавказа (50 видов из 21 рода и 11 семейств) и уточненный список видов для Северного Кавказа и Закавказья, новые находки на территории Кабардино-Балкарии, Северной Осетии, Дагестана, Абхазии и Южной Осетии. Проведен таксономический и зоогеографический анализ фауны. Представлено краткое описание морфологии имаго водных полужесткокрылых и определительные таблицы для видов фауны Северо-Западного Кавказа, проиллюстрированные оригинальными фотографиями. Отдельные главы посвящены экологическим особенностям, трофическим связям, биотопическому и высотному распределению водных клопов и водомерок; составлены карты распространения видов на территории региона.
